Braman's December Grand Prix Ends 2008 with a BANG!

December 14th, 2008 was the last track event for the year, and the first at the newly opened Palm Beach International Raceway (formerly Moroso) in Jupiter, Florida.

"This has been an incredible year for our clients and the track series" stated Vince Cerone, General Manager and COO of Braman Motorcars. "The track events are making better drivers of our clients, and provide them with the very best venue to experience the performance abilities of their vechicles", Cerone continued.

Six events were held in 2008, with an equal number planned for the 2009 series. Additionally, Braman is in negotiation with Skip Barber Racing School, the premier race school in the world, for Braman customer participation during 2009 at reduced entry fees.

The morning of the 14th started with a drivers meeting over breakfast, go-kart laps for track familiarization, a pace lap, timed laps in customers personal cars, and culminated with the Grand Prix. The events of the day were recorded, and DVD copies will be sent to every participant.

The ten best times of the day qualified for the Grand Prix. The Grand Prix consisted of drivers going once around the track for the best posted time. Trophies were awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Pictured above is Braman customer and racing extraordinaire Bruce Hollander. Bruce continuously gives onlookers an exhilarating show. On countless occasions, Bruce has shown everyone what his fiery Mini Cooper S is capable of. He ranked 1st in the October 12th track event and 2nd in the December 14th event.

When asked about his triumphant performance, Bruce earnestly commended the Mini Cooper S. He stated “the Mini Cooper S is an incredibly great car, especially when maneuvering on a small track. I also have Kumho Tires, which are designed to perform especially well on tracks.”

Bruce will definitely be attending our upcoming track events in 2009. When asked what he would like to say to potential participants of upcoming track events, he responded “it is a lot of fun to drive your car on a track and the go karts are terrific fun as well. Braman does a great job in making this a very social event. It is fun to meet other guys and girls with performance vehicles”. Bruce notices the wide variety of cars at the events, including
BMW M3s, Porsche Caymans, Dodge Vipers, and many more. We would like to see much more variety at the next track event. Show us what your car is capable of at the first track event in 2009, which will be held on February 1st!!!!!

Thunderous storm clouds and brief showers could not stop thirty-two Braman cars from hitting the asphalt at the newly named Palm Beach International Raceway - formerly Moroso Motorsports Park - on Sunday October 12th.

The day started out with a 9am Drivers' Meeting, followed by a rain-soaked go kart session that familiarized participants with the layout of the 3/4 mile, 10 turn track.

Without stopping the rhythm of the day, a parade lap was performed with each driver in their own car to give the feel of size and proportion to the track from their experience with the go karts. As the weather began to finally break for the better, the track began to dry off.

It was time to get down to business with timed laps around the track. Beginning times were in the 1 minute, 20 second average range, and by the lunch break Raj Alexander had posted the fastest lap of the morning at a jaw dropping 1:11.758.

After lunch, competition became fierce with times dipping periodically under 1:10 and by the final lap, times were in to qualify for the Braman Grand Prix, Bruce Hollander had posted an incredible 1:06.687. This time was only surpassed by Braman Race Instructor Freddy Rhemrev with his first test drive of Porsche's new 2009 Generation Two 911 Carrera posting the fastest time of the day at 1:05.517. Winners for the Grand Prix and GP times were Hollander in 1st place (MINI # 34) at 1:07.321, Stoessel in 2nd (Porsche #00) at 1:08.320 and Jeronimo Guzman in 3rd (BMW #14) at 1:08.874.

The day continued with more Go Kart racing through the end. Join us for our next Braman track event on December 14th.

Konstantine Pantardis pounces August Grand Prix

Roxburgh and Ferro Miliseconds Behind

It was an exciting event for Braman clients during August's track experience at Moroso Motorsports Park. The day started with a Drivers' Meeting by veteran instructor and race champion Freddy Rhemrev.
It was then onto the track for familiarization with side-by-side go-kart racing with 15 high performance karts. This part of the event gives drivers a keen sense of the turns and straight aways of this 3/4 mile 10 turn competitive track.
Then, it was time to get your car on the track and take that first adrenaline pumping ride to see what your car and you, the driver, are made of. One-by-one, Audi's, BMW's, MINI's and Porsche's hit the track to quickly dispatch a trio of a party-crashing Mustang GT, Corvette and VW 607 allowed to play with the Braman cars due to close Braman affiliation. The best of them was a gorgeous brand new Mustang and a bastion of American muscle, driven with every ounce of energy that talented driver Jon Goldberg could muster. It's best time was safely distanced by what would be a full six plus seconds from the best times of the day by BMW's MINI's and Porsche's. As Jon put it; "I can't wait for my new M3 to get here".
The first laps of the day were over 1 minute, 10 seconds (1:10.000) until Raj Alexander's Porsche blasted the best time of the group with a 1:07.672 run. He was then bested by another Porsche, driven by Konstantine Pantardis at 1:07.005. Then to heat things up even further, Rhonda Roxburgh handed both gentlemen a chill pill by cracking a time of 1:06.673. From there, it was sheer competition among the leaders with everyone trying to beat their own clock.
By lunchtime, car talk was in full effect, with everyone  discussing ways to shave seconds off their times. More laps were taken after lunch where the top 10 drivers of the day were announced for the Braman Grand Prix. Raj Alexander and Alan Melnick couldn't further compete as they work for Braman which disqualified entry.
The final Grand Prix lap, all others did not count, for each driver was a thrill, with three Porsches dominating the finish. Konstantine Pantardis posting the best time of the day and  a 1st place win (1:06.290), Rhonda Roxburgh in 2nd place (1:07.384), and Veteran Braman Champion Fernando Ferro rounding out 3rd place (1:08.276), nosing out Veteran Braman Champion Jose Nascimento in his MINI Cooper S in 4th (1:08.308)  closely followed by Todd Schuitema in a BMW M3 in 5th place (1:08.423).
Join us for our next event on October 12th!
